'Firsts' (11/12/2013)

Hi Mom!
My first companion is Sister Collins and my first area is the Redwood Ward in Grants Pass.

Other than the smoke and pot, Oregon is really a very nice place. Where New York is rolling hills of colorful woods, Oregon is spiky mountains/hills of Evergreens and Douglas firs. My comp (from Arizona) is about ready to suffer from the 45-55 degree weather and the constant overcast sky, but this is my kind of weather as you know :)

I really miss the MTC (Mission Training Center). There was so much Spirit there and I learned so much and made good friends. I know my purpose here is barely even started and there are people out there who need me and what He has for me to teach them.

I did get my first new investigator and handed out a Book of Mormon when I knocked a door. Haven't visited them back yet, will on Saturday. Met a couple of people who tell us to search for the truth and pray to Jesus Christ. We say that we have searched and we pray to Christ and Heavenly Father everyday and how much we love Him and are grateful for all of His blessings. They sometimes close the door, but we always smile and be friendly.
